NCBI Educational Resources

A discussion between me and my husband and the differences and new knowledge we have about degenerative diseases lead me to the National Center for Biotechnology Information Site. The amount of info I discovered is just, ridiculous… MORE INPUT STEPHANIE!  On  a more serious note they have a second edition handbook, a plethora of books, training, studies, field training etc. They have courses and some really interesting things. For example,  Vitamin, Mineral, and Multivitamin Supplements for the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease and Cancer: A Systematic Evidence Review for the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force [Internet].

They have databases, and cool tools like this..  which includes Mutation Analyzers. They also have free webinars, workshops, course materials and archives. I know that for a regular person / information junkie some terms may be a little overwhelming but they have glossaries and excellent information if your just interested in exploring. With the way Science and Tech are pushing each others boundaries so rapidly… its best to get reading now while its emerging instead of 10 years from now when people are custom ordering and supergening their offspring like a fast food combo and the BORGS begin to rise… I am only half joking.

Amino Acid Explorer

This tool allows users to explore the characteristics of amino acids by comparing their structural and chemical properties, predicting protein sequence changes caused by mutations, viewing common substitutions, and browsing the functions of given residues in conserved domains.

They also have tools for researches in form of
